I’m sorry for you feel that way. I know it’s hard for us SEers right now. I’m upset with how things were handled in the final too, but Stelena is NOT ruined. At least not for me. This show is written by JP, so obviously fuckery will happen. But I have to remain positive and know that things will work out in the end. It may not seem like it will after watching the S4 final, but I believe this is just part of Stelena’s amazing journey.

Lexi had to say that to Stefan because she’s his friend and (whither we like it or not) he needs to hear those things. He needs to be reminded that Elena is not the only girl in the world he could love. He needs to know that just because he can’t with Elena, it doesn’t mean he can never be happy again. It doesn’t mean his life is over. Lexi was saying what any good friend should in that situation, imo.

Elena has been OOC for most of season four, and even though she’s not sired or emotionless anymore, I didn’t expect to see the old Elena back right away. She’s not there yet, and maybe she never will be, idk. Both Elena and Stefan have changed and been through a lot (together and apart). So it’s going to take time for them to right their wrongs and find there way back to each other. I think S5 will show us Elena beginning to realize all her mistakes and finally deal with how badly she’s handled things (especially in the final).

Stelena is far from over and definitely not ruined in my eyes, but that’s just my opinion. I completely understand why people are upset. But I think we all need to remain positive and not give up! I love this ship way too much to do that. No matter what happens, I will ship S/E long after the show is over.
